Don’t offer alternatives

Monday, September 14th, 2009

Don’t offer alternatives if your child refuses a meal. If your child rejects a food, it doesn’t mean they will never eat it – it can take up to 8 – 10 attempts to get children to eat a new food. If they refuse to eat their meal after the allocated time (say, 30 minutes), remove it without fuss and do not offer any other food until the next mealtime.
